Meet Janny Sivilay, LSCSW, LCSW

A culturally grounded therapist supporting high-achieving professionals who are ready to stop performing and come home to themselves.

My Story

I grew up in a Lao household shaped by Buddhist values, cultural loyalty, and the quiet strength expected of eldest daughters in Southeast Asian families. At school, I entered a world that did not understand where I came from. I learned early on how to adapt, observe, and silence parts of myself in order to fit in.

“Healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about returning to who you were before the world told you to be someone else.”

When I was finally diagnosed with ADHD and autism in my late twenties, everything clicked. It gave me language for the experiences I had carried alone for years. What followed was a slow, compassionate journey back to myself. I learned to listen to the parts of me I had ignored for so long. I reconnected with my inner voice, my intuition, and the younger version of me who deserved softness.

This work helped me come home to myself. Now I help others do the same.

My Approach

We look at the stories you were handed, the stories you taught yourself when things went wrong. About who you should be, how much space you are allowed to take up, and what you are supposed to want. Then we figure out what is actually yours.

That means exploring the patterns that kept you safe once but may be keeping you stuck now. The people pleasing. The silence. The shrinking. We examine where those came from and what it would look like to let them go.

This is not about fixing you. You are not broken. It is about finally getting to know yourself again.

What It Is Like to Work With Me

This is not a space where you need to have it together. You can come in uncertain, exhausted, or unsure of where to even start. That is okay here.

Our work is personal and intentional. Nothing is rushed or forced. Our work goes deeper than worksheets. You will be heard, challenged when you need it, and supported at a pace that actually fits your life.

I keep my caseload small on purpose. You are not a slot on a calendar. You are someone I show up for fully, every single session.
